What is AUDENIQ (어데닉)?
AUDENIQ is a music platform being prepared in South Korea for independent artists, songwriters and labels. Built around distribution at home and abroad, it aims to bring music publishing, catalog and earnings management, and release support together.
Is AUDENIQ a music distributor?
We are preparing a music distribution service, but we have not started distributing yet. We are currently preparing incorporation and agreements with music platforms (DSPs) in Korea and abroad. Distribution and music publishing will be offered as separate services.
Can I release music or apply for publishing now?
Not yet. We are preparing to launch our distribution system and publishing service. We will announce when applications open, and the support for each service, on our official website and social channels.
Which music platforms can AUDENIQ distribute to?
Supported platforms have not been decided yet. We will pursue direct agreements with major Korean music services first, then widen our reach through direct agreements abroad and Merlin membership and agreements. We will announce supported platforms and countries once agreements are confirmed.
What is the difference between music distribution and music publishing?
Music distribution delivers your recordings to music platforms and pays out the earnings from their use. Music publishing is a separate service that manages royalties for the songs you write and pitches them for new uses. We will explain the contract and royalty scope of each separately.
Who can use AUDENIQ Publishing?
AUDENIQ Publishing is a music publishing service we are preparing to help with work registration, royalty management and new uses for your songs. It is for independent songwriters, artists who write their own songs and freelance creators. We set what we can manage after reviewing existing collective management or publishing agreements and the rights of each work.
If AUDENIQ distributes my music, do my rights transfer to AUDENIQ?
No. We are preparing standard distribution on a non-exclusive basis, and rights to recordings and works stay with their rights holders. AUDENIQ only receives the permissions needed for distribution within the contract scope. Publishing is also a separate service you choose and sign up for.
Can I move music I have already released?
We plan to support distributor transfers that keep your existing ISRC, UPC and release information. We will help you end your previous distribution only after confirming the release and matching through the new route. Whether and how you can move depends on your existing agreement and each platform's policy.
Can both indie artists and independent labels use AUDENIQ?
Yes. We are preparing a service for everyone from an individual artist's first release to independent labels running many artists. We are building it so labels can manage catalogs, release schedules and royalties as a team.
Does AUDENIQ handle music videos and music used in online videos?
We are preparing support for Korean music video ratings and releases on global video platforms. Ratings will follow the procedures of external rating bodies. We are also preparing rights management for music in online videos, such as YouTube Content ID, and support depends on each platform's and content's rights requirements.
Will support and payouts be available in Korean?
Yes. We are preparing Korean-language support and monthly royalty payments for users in Korea. We will share statements in line with music platforms' earnings reports and when royalties are confirmed.
Does taking the pre-launch survey sign me up?
No. The survey is only for collecting opinions while we plan the service. Taking part does not create an account or a distribution or publishing agreement.
