A publishing agreement is tied directly to your rights. Use these points to compare.
| Topic | What to check | Where AUDENIQ is heading |
|---|---|---|
| Copyright | Does signing transfer your copyright? | Copyright stays with the creator |
| Scope | Are all your works bundled at once? | Only the works and scope you agree to |
| Distribution | Is publishing bundled into a distribution contract? | Chosen and signed separately |
| Existing agreements | Does it conflict with current collective management or publishing? | Scope set after checking rights status |
| Opportunities | Is anyone promoting your works? | Proposals and pitching for new uses |
| Who can join | Can creators without a company use it? | Freelance creators included |
AUDENIQ's column shows the direction we set while preparing to launch. We do not guarantee to manage every work.
Music distribution delivers recorded music to music services and pays out the revenue from its use. Music publishing administers royalties for the compositions and lyrics behind a song and pitches them for new uses.
Even for the same song, the rights in the recording and in the composition and lyrics must be checked separately. AUDENIQ will explain the contract and payout scope of distribution and publishing separately.
AUDENIQ Publishing is preparing a service that organizes information about your works and their rights, and helps with song registration and royalty administration and accounting. Pitching your music for new uses is also part of the plan.
The goal is a service that freelance creators without a publisher or agency can use too. Which works can be administered, and the scope of support, will be decided after reviewing existing agreements and the rights status of each work.
AUDENIQ Publishing is being prepared so that copyrights stay with the creator. AUDENIQ plans to administer and pitch only the works and contract scope you separately agree to.
For works already covered by a collecting society mandate or a publishing agreement, that agreement and the rights status must be checked first. It is not a service that guarantees administration of every work.
Yes. AUDENIQ Publishing is also being prepared for indie composers, lyricists and freelance creators who work without a publisher or agency.
No. Publishing is a separate service that you choose and contract for on its own. AUDENIQ is preparing it so that applying for distribution never creates a publishing agreement by itself.
AUDENIQ will review existing collecting society or publishing agreements and the rights of each work before deciding the scope it can administer.
YOUR MUSIC. YOUR NEXT.
We welcome questions about the service
and collaboration proposals from music partners.
When applications open and the confirmed scope of support
will be announced on our website and social channels.
